First On-Site Cannabis Ordering System for Senior Communities

Sun Lakes Country Club residents can now order cannabis products through a touch-screen kiosk installed inside the facility. The system connects to Life Is Chill's inventory and fulfills orders through same-day delivery to individual units within the community.

LoveBud CEO Jonathan Havens said the kiosk runs on what the company calls "easy mode." It's a simplified interface that eliminates multi-step checkout flows and reduces text-heavy product descriptions. The design prioritizes accessibility: larger fonts, higher-contrast colors, and voice-assist prompts.

Delivery Model Bypasses Dispensary Travel Barriers

Orders placed through the kiosk are fulfilled by Life Is Chill's licensed delivery service within four hours. Residents scan an Arizona medical marijuana card or adult-use ID at the kiosk, browse inventory, and receive products at their door the same day.

The model solves a documented friction point for senior cannabis consumers: transportation. A 2024 survey by the American Cannabis Nurses Association found that 41 percent of medical marijuana patients over age 65 cited dispensary travel as a barrier to consistent access.

Regulatory Green Light in Arizona's Adult-Use Market

Arizona's adult-use statute permits licensed retailers to operate delivery services from a single storefront license. Life Is Chill holds a retail license issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services. It operates the kiosk as an extension of its delivery footprint under that license.

The kiosk doesn't dispense products on-site. It functions as an ordering terminal tied to a licensed delivery operation, keeping the model inside Arizona's regulatory framework.

Arizona legalized adult-use cannabis in November 2020 through Proposition 207. The state doesn't restrict delivery destinations by property type, allowing fulfillment to private residences, hotels, and age-restricted communities.

Senior Cannabis Use Climbs Nationally

Cannabis consumption among Americans aged 65 and older has grown faster than any other demographic since 2019. Data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health shows past-year cannabis use in this age group rose from 4.2 percent in 2019 to 9.1 percent in 2025.

Medical use is the primary driver. Conditions common in older adults include arthritis, neuropathy, insomnia, and chemotherapy side effects—all qualifying conditions in most medical marijuana programs. Arizona's medical program lists chronic pain, PTSD, and cancer among its qualifying diagnoses.

Expansion Plans Target Retirement Communities in Legal States

LoveBud plans to deploy kiosks in 12 additional senior living facilities across Arizona, Nevada, and California by the end of 2026. Havens said the company is in discussions with three multi-site independent living operators that collectively manage 47 properties in adult-use states.
