Linalool is the same compound responsible for the calming aroma of lavender. In cannabis it appears at lower absolute concentrations than myrcene or limonene but contributes meaningfully to the calming, slightly floral character of certain dessert and OG-lineage cultivars. Pharmacologically, linalool has the strongest evidence base of any cannabis terpene for anxiolytic and sleep-supportive effects, primarily from inhalation aromatherapy research outside the cannabis literature.
