Q2 Financials Show Consecutive EBITDA Growth
Vext posted positive adjusted EBITDA for the second straight quarter in Q2 2026, according to the company's August 20 earnings release. The MSO didn't disclose top-line revenue or net income figures in the initial filing, but the EBITDA streak signals improved operational efficiency after years of restructuring. Vext has been trimming non-core assets since 2024, when it divested Colorado and Michigan holdings to focus on Ohio and Arizona.
The company operates under the Vext Science brand and trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange. It entered Ohio in 2023 through a series of dispensary acquisitions. The state has since become its primary retail engine.
Ohio Expansion: Sixth Dispensary Now Live
Vext opened its sixth Ohio dispensary during Q2 2026, extending its retail network in the state's adult-use market. Ohio launched recreational sales in August 2024. Since then, the state has become one of the fastest-growing adult-use markets in the Midwest. Vext's six-store footprint positions it as a mid-tier operator in a state where Cresco Labs, Verano, and Ayr Wellness each run eight-plus locations.
The new store's location wasn't specified in the earnings release. Vext's existing Ohio dispensaries are clustered in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati metro areas. The company hasn't announced plans for a seventh location, but Ohio's Division of Cannabis Control issued 11 new adult-use dispensary licenses in July 2026, and Vext holds provisional approval for one of those certificates.
Arizona Cultivation Wind-Down Complete
Vext completed the exit of its Arizona cultivation operations in Q2 2026, shuttering a facility that had operated since 2021. The move follows a broader MSO trend: cultivation margins in Arizona have fallen below 20% as the state's oversupply crisis deepened in 2025 and 2026. Wholesale flower prices in Arizona dropped from $1,200 per pound in early 2024 to under $600 by mid-2026, according to state transaction data.
Vext will continue to operate one Arizona dispensary but will source inventory from third-party cultivators. The company didn't disclose severance costs or asset write-downs tied to the cultivation closure.
